One thing that I have really come to enjoy when I make the drink is to use my own syrups that I have made or just serve something that I know isn't full of random additives that a person really should not be consuming. I personally don't want to give people poor quality items because I would not want to have those kind of things in my drinks. Grenadine for example is made of pomegranate, and some of the most common grenadines you can find don't even have pomegranate in them. Grenadine really is not that hard to make at home.

You just need sugar, pomegranate juice, and some orange flower water. to make the most basic one. Here is how you make it:

  • 2 cup of sugar

  • 2 cup of pomegranate juice

  • 1-2 dashes of orange flower water

Bring the pomegranate juice to a boil and add your sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Then let it simmer for 5 min or until it reaches your desired thickness. Add the orange flower water and mix. Let it cool to room temperature and then bottle and store in the fridge. It should keep for a few weeks, but if you want it to last longer add some vodka to the bottle to help preserve it. You also can easily scale the recipe higher or smaller.
